The Brownhelm Historical Association (BHA) is starting up a new fundraiser in August called Grandpa's Garage Sale. This sale will take place simultaneously with the annual Mill Hollow Car Show. BHA is hoping to collect a wide variety of donations to sell to car aficionados, mechanics, gear heads, and others who will be passing by the Historic Brownhelm School & Museum on their way to and from the car show.
Look through your garage - there's probably something you can part with. Donations will be collected starting June 5th at the Historic Brownhelm School & Museum on Tuesdays.
This list below is suggestive, but not all-inclusive. If it's cool to look at and could have come out of a garage, it probably qualifies:
1. Mechanic's tools - Large or small. Hand tools, power tools, bench-mounted, freestanding, etc. Cool old gauges or fixtures.
2. Shop equipment - Old metal cabinets, shelves, work benches. Cool shop lights.
3. Petroliana - Old gas or oil cans or advertising. Nothing so new that you could still find it in an auto parts store.
4. Wall art - Old metal signs. Old (pre-70s) license plates. Car or movie posters. Anything you would like to hang on the walls of your man cave.
Please note that any donations must be in good enough condition to sell. Donors may reclaim any unsold items after the sale if they wish. As with Grandma's Attic Sale donations, nothing will be carried over to next year if the sale becomes a repeat occurrence.
