Brownhelm Historical Association meets on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm at 1940 North Ridge Road in Vermilion, Ohio.
The March monthly meeting celebrates the 26th year of the historical association. After a brief business meeting (starting at 6:30 pm), speaker Ashley Buzzanca will discuss Johnson’s Island Prison (starting at 7:30 pm). Thousands of American soldiers became prisoners of war during the Civil War and military prisons were established all over the country, both North and South. Located just off the coast of Sandusky, Ohio, learn how Johnson's Island was unique among the many Civil War-era prisoner of war camps.
Doors open for business meeting at 6 pm. Business meeting runs 6:30-7 pm. Doors open for program at 7 pm. Program starts at 7:30 pm.
