An Old Fashioned Holiday At The Benjamin Bacon House takes place on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2 at Mill Hollow Park/Vermilion River Reservation. This is a free event.
Re-enactors recreate an Old Fashioned Holiday at the Benjamin Bacon House located in Mill Hollow Park, also known then as Brownhelm Mills or Bacon’s Mills. Guests travel in time to the 1860’s as re-enactors portray early Brownhelm residents preparing for the holiday party - performed by members of the Brownhelm Historical Association and sponsored by the Lorain County Metro Park.
Enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of Christmas in the candlelit home. Outdoor campfire, hearth cooking demonstrations, music and more will also be offered. Live music on Saturday features Thor Platter Band. Sunday music features Greg Moore Acoustics.
Hot cocoa and cookies will be available for purchase from Friends of the Lorain County Metro Parks.
At the event, pick up free reenactment tickets at the Carriage Barn. Tickets will have reenactment time stated on ticket. Groups of 8 or more, please call the Carriage Barn to reserve tickets at (440) 967-7310.
Saturday activities take place from 3 pm to 8 pm. Sunday activities take place from 2 pm to 6 pm.
